I am an Assistant Professor of English at Salisbury University focusing on environmental humanities and modernism. My writing interests include literature, climate change, environmental justice. I received my PhD from the University of Virginia in 2017 and my BA from Brown in 2009.
I am currently working on several projects, including “Modernist Farming,” a scholarly book developed from my dissertation, and a project called “Chronic Crisis,” in which I argue that humans must adjust our sense of time to address climate change effectively and justly. I am also composing a creative manuscript about life on a decidedly non-idyllic contemporary farm. My journalism, essays, and reviews appear in Slate, Orion, The Los Angeles Review of Books and elsewhere.
